VASEP Highlight - Jun 2025: Shrimp
09:50 06/30/2025
As the end of May 2025, Vietnam's shrimp exports reached 1.7 billion USD, up 32% compared to the same period last year. Strong growth was recorded in several key markets, especially China and Hong Kong with a combined value of nearly USD 494 million - an increase of 90%. The US followed with a 29% rise, Japan up 19% and the EU up 22%. The growth was driven by trong consumption demand in major markets, rising raw shrimp and export prices, along with exporters' efforts to accelerate shipments ahead of the US's planned imposition of reciprocal tariffs on July 9.
